This can't be happening!
US, which was the frontrunner of democratic rights once upon a time, has snatched the rights of women to abort! Women don't have a say in their reproductive rights in this day and age. Bowing down to electoral compulsions and pressures of dogmatic, narrow-minded chauvinists, America has dealt the cruel blow on all its female citizens.
Women's Right to Their Own Bodies is Not Negotiable!
One of the most fundamental of rights we all have is the right to our own body. Birthing is a collateral of that right.
If only men knew what childbirth and subsequent child rearing really meant and involved. Sitting at the periphery, its easy to pass moral judgments on character and forbid abortion.
No woman, however independent or practical or hard-hearted, takes the decision to abort happily. Can you imagine cutting off your finger willingly? That's how it hurts, when you part with your flesh and blood.
When she goes ahead with one of the toughest decision of her life - to abort her foetus, as a civilized society we must support her, empathize with her. And provide all possible medical assistance. Not take away this basic right from her.
Imagine what happens now? Illegal abortions will take place in unsanitary conditions, carried out by dubious untrained people. Who is at risk? The woman, of course. She will get infected or worse, crippled for life, just because she had to abort!
And the decision to keep the baby or part with it is only the mother's right, no one else's.
Back off, people. Become a human first to judge a mother. There is a reason you weren't meant to give birth. Stop harassing those who can.

Well articulated article. Pathetic state of affairs in US which is regarded as a superpower. How can the Government decide if a woman will be keeping her baby or aborting? And sometimes, abortion is required on health grounds when the mother's health is at stake. This is truly not ethical not acceptable. My heart goes out to the women who will be affected by this rule....
